Google has launched a new AI feature called ‘Polish’ in Gmail, aimed at making it easier to write polished emails on both web and mobile. This tool uses Google’s advanced AI, Gemini, to help users quickly improve their email drafts with little effort.
The feature can turn simple notes into well-organized emails. Users can enter rough ideas or incomplete thoughts, and with one click, they can get a formal draft ready to send. A recent Google blog post mentioned, “The Polish option, now on web and mobile, simplifies your email writing, transforming rough drafts into polished messages and saving you time.”
Besides ‘Polish,’ Gmail offers other AI tools like ‘Formalize,’ ‘Elaborate,’ and ‘Shorten,’ each designed for different parts of writing emails. These tools enhance the existing ‘Help me Write’ feature, especially for drafts longer than 12 words.
Users on Android and iOS can try the new ‘Polish’ feature, which is available to Google Workspace customers with the Gemini Business and Enterprise add-on, as well as those with Gemini Education and Education Premium plans, and Google One AI Premium.
While these AI tools provide great convenience, users should carefully check the AI-generated suggestions to make sure the final message matches their communication style before sending it.
